Here are the 2 that are converting into 1 (it has the cab already swapped over the the one on the Left from the Right F250 2wd...Basically Canibalizing it for my F150 4x4...Sad it used to be a Factory AC truck but g/f Had a Accident and killed my cab!!!

This is my Flatbed that i drive for my Usual Runs...I also have the chance of Getting a 4x4 F250...Temped but anyones input on the 250's would be greatly appriciated!! oh and the 250 is a 76 - Standard -390

Lookin good man...looks like you have a nice little collection. And don't worry about cannibalizing one to save another.


As for the 76 250...I don't think you can go wrong. Just look out for the typical problem areas and make sure it's an actual 390...seeing as a 390 wouldn't have been in that truck from the factory. Only way to tell what it is is to measure the stroke. Stick a dowel in a plug hole and turn engine over by hand. Can't remember the stroke lengths for the 360 or 390 right now though.

360/352= 3.5 inches 390= a hair over 3 3/4 inches 410/428= a hair shy of 4 inches. Another way to make sure its an FE is to look at where the intake and heads meet if the valvecover overlaps the intake and bolts to it its an FE if it dont its somethin else.

To expound on this, count the valve cover bolts:

8 bolts= 351M/400
7 Bolts= 429/460
6 Bolts= 302/351W
5 Bolts= 360/390
