In March of 08 I bought my dream truck. It was a 1979 F350 6.6L auto with a/c and cruise. Actually I guess my dream truck would have been an XLT or Lariet but this was a Custom but I was ok with that since it had all the options.......
It had a 6 inch lift and 38 inch Ground Hawgs. Whoever had lifted it must have used blocks in the back for an F150 because they were to narrow and allowed the axle to turn which broke the ujoint and then dropped the bed on the tires. So I knew I was going to need some body work and paint.
In may of 08 I stripped the truck down to take to the body shop....
March is usually a very good month for me but I noticed things were not near as busy as years past. The paint shop had quoted me $7500 to paint my truck and I got nervous about coming off that money till I saw what was going to happen with business.
So I put it all back together so I could still drive it now and then.
While I was waiting to paint it I decided to upgrade a few things. 1st I had 4:88's and Detroit lockers put in the front and rear. Then I found a 460 to put in and all new exhaust..
Around New years in 09 I ended up trading a 4wheeler I had for this Jeep..
And then a few months ago I made a deal with the painter to paint my truck in exchange for the Jeep.
This is how it sits today with new tires and all put back together..
I think I need a better camera because I still havent been able to get a pic that shows the green really well. It looks much darker in all my pics for some reason.
