Would an auto trans from a 92 Aerostar work in my 78 F250 with 400 engine? I would have to use a floor shifter. I know, it's probably sacrilegious to even think of doing such a thing.

Nope, you'd need one w/ a 460 bell housing..

IIRC, that's an A4LD...which is a pretty lousy transmission.

Even if it would bolt up, it wouldn't last long behind that engine.
