Lots of oil on intake manifold

I had a shop put the edelbrock manifold on, and I put on an HEI dist prior to that.

I have Oil all over the manifold, the dist oring seems to be the culprit. I do not

have a true oil pressure gauge on it yet, but the factory gauge reads on the

high side, but still in range.

Did the mechanic possibly damage the dist oring or is there another likely

problem? thank you FOT

Most likely the o-ring.It may have got nicked or just hardened. Might want to check the PCV valve it might need replaced they can cause oil to spew out from excessive pressure.

Check the dizzy o-ring, the front seal, and the PCV. But I'd bet if the intake to block seal was used up front, that's more of the issue. If that seal is used, and liberal amounts of silicone isn't used at the block to intake mating surfaces, it can be bad news. I also like to use a valley pan just for this reason.

The intake seal was not used, the pvc is just an open hose, that puffs smoke constantly. I have a new oring, hopefully it will fix the problem, thanks folks for the help.

Another tip that i do.....Set the valley gaskets in place with liberal amounts of sealer....make sure the corners are set on the block surface and let them setup about 45 minutes minimum. Use the the runner gasket and place them in the tabs to line everything up before it dries...once dry apply more sealant around the all 4 outer ports on the block set the gaskets and a thin coat on top of the gasket set the intake....I guarranty you it wont leak and the valley gaskets will hold during torque proceedure and operation.
