ok so i was going through criagslist at 3:46am....(can't sleep because im sick...no drinking for me tonight ugh) its a rear axle out of an f-150 4x4 complete with shocks, 3.55 gears and its a POSI!!! i know chris i told you i would buy those gears...but i can't pass this offer up im going to talk to him tomorrow and see if he still has it.

i have 3.55 gearing but i only have an open diff. plus the gears are going bad. its all screwed up from me bashing them over the past few years of racing and offroading im also looking for an M50D transmission too because well...thats not so well haha

yeah so im picking it up on tuesday! I offered 125 cash and he said yes. it came out of a bronco with 125xxx on it. Im going to put all new brakes and suck on it before i put it in. Im also going to check the backlash and change the fluid to as well as paint it black

yeah im working on that ive been looking around for a bit for a used decent zf5. nothing around here with the right price yet. on the zf5 though what motors had the same bell housing setup as the 4.9? was it just the 460 and the 300? or is there other motors? also if i do put a zf5 in my truck....i know i need new clutch components but what about the driveshafts? and the transfer case? can i use the same transfer case i have now( borg warner 1345)

There are three different bellhousing bolt patterns: 300/302/351, 460, and PSD. So your ZF5 can be from any of the small blocks.

Driveshafts will depend on the difference in length between the M5OD and the ZF. If you've got a 1 piece shaft the lengths will pretty much have to be IDENTICAL. If they're not-- you're shafts will need a bit of modifying. If you find a parts truck with the ZF5 in it, you can reuse the front driveshaft-- they'll be the same for all ZF5 trucks. The rear driveshaft is what varies in length because of the different cab/bed configurations.

T-case: I believe the 1356 will bolt right up.
