Long tube VS shorties

Well, looking at headers now. Not sure weather or not to go with shorties or long tubes... Looking at 3 inch collectors. Lower priced models are good, too.

Well shorties should be a direct swap, no exhaust routing mods at all. But, longtubes will give you more torque down low and better exhaust efficiency.....better efficiency= better mileage.

Well, whole exhaust is being trashed anyways... I can't complain about more torque

Wasn't sure if there would be any clearance issues with lt's...

I don't THINK so however, there may be issues with the collector and the transmission pan.

A quick search will reveal that most people opt for the Sanderson headers for quality and fitment.

Summit headers suck, IMO. I went back to manifolds because they were so terrible.

i used headman long tube headers with 3'' collecters on my 64 f100 with a 460 c-6. the exauhst guy had to do some fancy bending to get the 3'' exauhst in. but i would do it all over again the tourqe increase and just overall performance is awsome over short tube headers or manifolds i.m.o
