If you don't mind me asking how do you know it's collapsed?

Well my head is pretty congested because I'ms ick as a dog...but yesterday i puleld my passenger side valve cover (without removing anything else) and checked to make sure all my rocker arms were still tight and the lash was within specs...then, after I overlooked the little things...I tightened the header bolts to make sure the gasket wasn't leaking......other than that....it's the same ticking sound I got from the old lifters before I changed them out...on the same side as well.....btw D-kuzman.......I liek the firefighter girl in ur gallery...very nice heh heh...what else do you think it could be???Right now I'm trying to track down the specs for a ford motorsports camchaft with 975 131 scribed in the end in the event it is indeed the lifters...I'll go ahead and swap the cam too...like I shoulda done last time.

Also, it's not like it's not priming up......when you start the truck you can hear it and when it's got a load on it you can hear it...for instance...at idle you don't hear anything...but put it in gear and hit the gas......tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick tick.....drivin me nuts...I like to maintain my stuff.

Tine fer I appreciate it lol......thanks for thinkin on this...it's really drivin me nuts and pissing me offmore so the kind of money i spent on the lifters...I've got paper Mr gasket header gaskets on it now...I got another set with me I think I'll trade em in on some metal or copper ones and see if that don't take care of it..my buddy seems to think it is an exhaust leak...I din't know...only thing I know is my truck sounds like a POS right now and highly embarrassing. Thanks again.

I only know enough to know I don't know anything, but...

If you replaced the lifters and have the same tick in the same place, my guess is that it's not another bad lifter...

I use the Mr. Gasket ultra seals for my headers, they dont leak. Id agree, that if you changed them and its still makin the sound, its not it. You sure its not an exhaust leak?

hey falresidethunder, you sure that clicking is the lifters? I have a clicking sound too but its from where my cat and muffler attach, always comes loose. and on the flaresides, that joint is right under the passenger side door.. at least I HOPE thats what im hearing..

Flairside.. do you still have the thermactor system on the motor? Is the steel tube across the back of the motor connecting the heads still there? A small leak in this tube or the check valve attached to it will sound like an exhaust leak or a bad lifter.

Just because I know and it helps, he doesn't.. he plugged the holes in the heads.

Did you happen to look at the cam lobes while the lifters were out to make sure one wasn't excessivly worn? How about any weak valve springs? I would have to agree that if you put new parts in and the noise is still there then theres a problem.

Heh behind the times Nextras...no cats just dual straights that go down the passenger side....I did look at the cam lobes while i was in there and things looked great...however.......the difference is it just started monday with the tapping, I got done with my mods around Novembers if not longer than that......Ryan ur absolutely correct...only smog left on there is EGR and the pump itself...nothing more...ditched alotta crap that's fer sure.

It's a posssibility but I clean the intake system once every few months...this last time I used seafoam....usually I use atf....the neighbors hate it......I didn't get to make a vid today and I'd ratherdo it in the daylight but I should have some time tomorrow morning so I'll do it then........it's loud enough where I can be going 70 mph down the road next to a construction barricade with Lynyrd Skynyrd cranked up and hear it on the driver side........
