lateral movement in the stick of an M5OD

update

got the clutch replaced - drives like a new truck. i didn't realize how bad it was. clutch feels great. no movement in the stick anymore. i guess they adjusted everything when they replaced the clutch.

springs right to the middle, no play in the stick in gear or in neutral. moving to the right/left is very deliberate and a good solid "click" into each gear.

FYI - they charged $400 to replace the clutch, but they already had the tranny down to fix a leak. lots of money spent today, but both of those projects were over my head.

Maybe this will help! There are two pins, one one the left and one on the right. They should be round with a flat end, if not you will get extra play in your shifter. They are easy to replace, but you have to stake them down.

All my vehicles do it the trucks are four speeds and the jeeps a 3 speed. All are on the floor and all have about 2 inches or more of play in em and they work fine. Glad to see ya used the avatar there Robert.
