Man.....that is awesome!!!!! What the heck am I going to do with something like that? Look at that huge pump on the front...dang. I had all I could do to get my wife to let me buy my last rig....
The truck I kick myself most over not purchasing was a fire truck. It didn't have a pump bed...but it was a 77 250 4x4 with a flareside long bed. I absolutely love longbed flare sides (I've only ever seen 2 trucks with them in person, and 2 beds being sold separately). The truck was in rougher shape than the 70 Ken just picked up. The FD was asking $4200, I offered 2500, truly a realistic price for the truck. They came down to 3750 my final offer was 3250...I thought they may come down, I hemmed and hawed over it for a couple of days and decided that I needed that truck. I pulled in to the FD just in time to see the new owner pull away. I still kick myself over that one, and was probably be the reason for my philosophy on car buying. I know for a fact I'd still have that truck today...looking back, it was well worth that extra $500.
Yeah, but like the one I just picked up, if it's owned by a municipality, most likely, it will be garaged and well cared for as mine was.....northern fire trucks will have been treated just fine....don't you think?
^^^Should be just fine...but still exposed to more elements simply due to when the rig did have to go out in the weather and residual contaminants from winter.
