Just purchased a 94 F 250 with 53,000

That's right very clean F250 1994 with 53,000 miles.
I purchase it from an old timer who only used it to hunt and fish out of and my intention is to put a slide in camper in it and do more of the same.
I need some advice on how to go about prepping and maintaining this truck to make it my daily driver over this winter.

It is an automatic 460 standard cab 8 foot bed. Four-wheel-drive and I believe it has a plow package. Has never been used as a plow though.
Tires are dry rotted and will need to be replaced as soon as possible.
I will drive a tank or two of gasoline through it first before changing any fluids.
Truck drives straight, starts right up, no leaks, no smoke, breaks straight and is very clean and rust free.

After a new set of tires I will look at all belts and hoses and most likely replace them all. Then comes changing of all the old fluids oil, transmission, axles....
And after a couple tanks of gas in-line gas filters will have to be changed as well.

This is not my first big block Ford and that's why I bought this one.

I would like to hear some comments about what tires(and possibly shocks) to use – nothing outrageous but it has to go on/off road.
Should I switch to synthetic lubricant? I've used a lot of BG products in the past and in my current car. What should I consider what it comes to fuel filters.
I know I'm forgetting a few other things that I need to do that's why am asking for everyone's help.

I am planning on owning this truck for many years and many miles and it's going to take me to some very remote places. I want to make sure that as its new owner I re-brake it in right.

With the camper going to load it, definitely will want a good rated tire, I would consider load E, stay away from passenger tires. You can tell the difference by the tire size, in that LT is for Light Truck, while a P is passenger. So LT235/85 R16 is a light truck, then look for Load Range E. E may be overkill, but they will hold up to heavier loading with no issues.

With the lower miles, the truck hasn't gotten a lot of time to get gunked up, so synthetics or maybe go synth blend for a few and switch totally to synth later if you want to. It is more a choice than a necessity to switch. I run synth in all the newer vehicles, but I have one sitting out here with 4000 miles shy of 400,000 on conventional.

Fuel filters are where I personally don't worry about brand as much, just be sure it has one and replace every so often. Driving conditions and regularity help determine the interval.

That sounds neat and well taken care f250 without those leaks, really nice find! Check the color of power steering/gearbox for gray metallic color that might due to metal particles so see if pump needs to be replaced.
Definitely go for good all terrain tire so won't worry much on going everywhere. Compare BFG T/A KO or Nitto Grappler for all terrain tires, Super Swamper if you are more on trails and mud, check them here: http://4wheelonline.com/Off_Road_Mud_Tires.25
