Well in searching for bad wires and ground I pulled the ECU on the 94 Bronk and there was a Jet Chip on it. Im wondering if I could use n my 95 F350 5.8L SD E4OD. Bronk is 94 MAF E4OD, im assuming I cant use caus of the MAF VS Speed Density, and 5.8 vs 5.0. Anyone know for sure??

even if you could, those chips are junk... Nothing is going to replace a dyno tune or atleast a good canned tune from a reputable shop.... Even a tweecer or quarterhorse would be better to use than a jet chip.....

Are you sure that will help him? Feed can get expensive after awhile and I don't know if the power output will justify the cost :rotz:

Oh wait you meant a different kind...

:rofl2:

I've been interested in the Moates Quartehorse myself but the binary codes scare me. I agree about the JET chip being junk....you're paying money for something that can be done for free in 45 minutes' time.

Dude...9 times out of 10 all they do is advance the timing......if it's a chip that alters shift points then I'm sticking my foot in my mouth.

Yeah Flairside is right, in most cases all the chips do is advance the timing.. something you can do for free by simply rotating the distributor. Some may also alter shift points on the transmission buy you'll have to look up that specific chip to know for sure. But even if it does I'd still chuck in in the trash, a mechanical shift kit will produce better results and you can dial in enough ignition advance yourself to get some gains without going so far you need to run premium fuel.. which is what the chips do.

The chip could also be what is causing the problem in the Bronco, simply take it off and plug the EEC back in and you'll know.

It runs fine with the chip in or out, the prob was the grounds for the computer pulled outta the harness. Once I put em back in, it started up fine.

i doubt this one alters any shift points....

I just couldn't trust any of those chips.... Plus, they dont let you change anything, i can alter my tune with my SCT Xcal3...

Its almost as bad as those no name ebay chips which are just resistors you wire into your MAF to screw with the A/F....
