Enough Union Bashing . Here U drive hours and pay for own insurance For around $15 . Or get $20 + and have it included. Think about it . All Companies I know of that r union compete with non union everyday .

Today most r just about working conditions , Manpower pools and insurance anyway .

That being said the National building codes (U know the one the feds push ) Requires elevators. But every state is different .

One of my coworkers is from Alabama and like u all was against it . Only took 2 weeks to change his mind .

Yeah just sit around and get paid out the ***, i'm sure as hell he came around, I have the unfortunate pleasure of dealing with Union losers on a daily bases, the main LDC is Union talk about half witted losers! that make our job 10 times harder, damn near every day I get in to a fight with some worthless Union goon about our loads being Destroyed, and my boss has been dealing with these *** holes for 9 years, this job and the last job I dealt with Unions and it's whats given me my seething hatred of any thing Union.
I wont even go in to it because I dont feel like getting infuriated on my last day off of work.
Union's breed worthlessness, I don't know how the car company's can even produce things that don't fall apart after 5 minutes off the line..:guns:
Like I said even I have standards i'll walk off a job before I join a ****ing union.

Sorry I was defending my viewpoint not shoving my ideals at U. Just like u now did to me by the way.

Every thing has a bad side . I'm in construction and if didn't have union to work from would be driving 2-3 hrs each way for a decent paying job And insurance for my kids .

That about cuts to the chase, doesn't it? I've mentioned this before, but after 20 years on the job, I got a handshake and a "thank you for your service" along with my final check. Wifey's union- she would've gotten a severance package and most of her pension under the same circumstances.

Son's union since this spring. When he took his teaching position, he found out he was 2 "steps" above the listed salary because he was a current employee, and as such keeps his current pay scale. (They pay landscapers more than teachers- think about that for a minute).

There's good and bad to both, but generally I've seen those that protest the Union's most loudly don't have union jobs... or payscales.

Seen both sides of it and I make a hell of a lot more than a Union employee...but I work my azz off and am solely responsible if something goes wrong...I have no one to hide behind, blame or defend my incompetance.
Show me a Union employee that:
-Takes responsibility for their own actions.
-Does not abuse the system in place for their own benefit...eg..sick days.
-Does not use the expression "that is not my job"
Let's not forget the truly incompetant employees that have no business staying employed but since they are "Union" they will be looked after.
I've personally seen more lazy, careless, incompetant people employed by unions than anywhere else...if these Union employees had to face the real world it would be an unpleasant reality check for many of them.

I can't join a union, I dont have a entitlement mind set, I want my pay check to be what I worked my guts out for.
People defend unions for, well I wont go in to it..
I know what they are and what they produce its a form of welfare and nothing more.

You should see the house my Union employed uncle lives in. I mean no offense to anyone who does manual labor, but the job he does is not worth what he's paid. In a free market, his house would be half the size it is and his cars would be used (The 72 camaro drag car would still be used either way if he had it without the union)
