Found a '69 4 door pick up complete and a 71 sport custom in great shape, has been sitting a long time outside I saw no rust, no engine, was a 390

$1500.00 for both, should I jump?

I would. I'm not an advocate of scrapping old steel, but I do use it as a basis of worst case scenario on returns...in which case, you could get a grand back out of them at the scrap yard...more if you have the time to part them out. And that's based on the 'just in case you lose interest' premise.
