Is a ficm problem or not ?

2005 ford diesel 6.0 wont start, when the batteries are at full charge the motor only cranks , but when they get low at aprox 40% it tries to start and with lots of black smoke. I repaired high pressure oil leak , diagnostic shows 6 of 8 injectors failed click test. I pulled injectors had them checked and they all work! The ficm shows 48 volt with key on and when cranking. The high pressure is at 1500 psi when cranking. fuel pressure is arround 50 psi when cranking. there is no chaefing on wire harness and all plugs are cnnected. I also let it sit over night with out recharging the batteries and the next morning it tries to start right away, but whe i charge the batteries back up it only cranks over until they get low again then tries to start. Can anyone help

do you have a po611 code?

I don't have a scanner and the shop that diagnosed it didn't mention any codes. When I asked if it was the ficm he didn't think that was the problem ,he wanted to pull out the injectors for 600. and test them. I pulled them out myself and he tested them on his machine and they were ok! Now he thinks it could be the ficm. This was a reputable shop I went to.

I talked to the mechanic today and he told me he did get a ficm code but not po611 and he couldnt remember which code came up,he then told me his assistant at the front desk should have the printout. He then told me that he never suggested to his assistant that my injectors were bad that he was going to do more diagnostic testing after the weekend. (Ihad the truck towed home on a saturday because of the bad info from assistant) Lack of or miscomunication cost me 300.00 to have injectors tested!! Im trying to get my money back along with the codes but it probobly wont happen.

The first time when I went in there was an old man with dirty hands, and seemed very knowlegable but I havent seen him since. I know for a fact if he did the work I would have it running now.

OH I'm not going back to throw more money away!! I'm probably goig to order a remanufactured FICM, I have replaced almoste everything else.

Ok here is what I did last night! I tested ficm and got 48.3 volt with key on and when cranking motor for 10 seconds it stayed at 48 volt . When I turn on ignition my injectors don't cycle. I pulled ficm out and checked plugs and pins it looked ok . I opened ficm to do a visual inspection on boards and looks ok, but the little board responsible for high voltage smells burnt. I also pulled the relay it seems to be working and its not hot. Just for the heck of it I used the blower relay ( low amp) and still no difference.

Just a reminder it tries to start when my batteries get down to aprox 11.8 volt
When it tries to start black smoke bellows out the tail pipe. I forgot to say it also has a new starter ( I smoked the old one ) so the motor spins ok. I also pumped 32 gallons out of tank refilled it with 11 gallon fresh fuel and changed bothe filters. Last of all I only have 92k on the motor.
