introduction and question

hello all. Names nick and i got a 78 f250 i found sitting in the back of my wiFes gpas car lot a couple years ago and couldn't leave without it. Now we live back in Florida. Got the truck with around 60k miles on it. But now i wanna lift it. My question being...is can i lift the truck w/o putting it up on a lift. Im only goin 4 inches. Any help on this would be great.

Welcome to FTF.
No need for a lift to install a lift kit. Just makes it easier to undo the nuts and bolts standing than laying on the ground is all.

Thank you for the info. Here's a picture of the truck next to the work vehicle. And of the first time i took it mudding in Florida. Main reason for her lift.

Got another quick question. Im ordering my lift kit today. And was lookin at tires and kinda falling for the military tires. But i noticed they are 36 37 or way bigger. Im wondering if the 36 or 37s will fit under the truck with only 4" lift.

they should fit alright. i have 35's under mine with a 4 inch lift and could probably squeeze 38s under it.

Finally got the lift and tires in. And bolted to the truck. Had to put the be and after pics in the gallery. They are too big to post on my phone.

Thank you. Looks alot better now ended up buying 37" military tires for it. Seem to fit the truck nicely.
