The doors themselves will remain red...I want red to be the main color, like it is now. But the door panels have me a little confused now, I dunno if it would look better with a red panel and white insert, or a white panel with woodgrain or possibly even a red insert.

Well if ya want a red panel then I would do a white insert. If ya go with a white panel youll have to paint it yourself. If it were me id do both and then compare em side by side.

Yeah I would go head and paint em both and see what the panels themselves look like then use some craft paper to give ya the color inserts before ya get em dyed.

I really love the old scheme of the 57 Chevy Cars. Yes, it's a chevy, but ever since I was wee little I always wanted one of those cars and just thought the interior schemes were awesome. You could get creative, but if going with more red on the door panels, seat, dash and headliner, I'd probably go with black carpet. Gauges, I'd go with the white face ones or make or buy one of those panels that you could put in your own guages like the ones from BOTP. The Dakota Digital setup would be awesome with red digital.
No matter what you decide your mind will change all the time because when you start putting things together, you start visioning better.

I think might be a little to much red if you do the inside...

Maybe black seat and stuff with red pinstrips and red stitching? with white accents (speakers, knobs, etc.)

Ben,

I think the seat would look good in red with the inside panels in white. I'm picturing the stitching of the upholstery like the original dent side Explorer seats that were vinyl with plaid cloth inserts. Red where the vinyl was, white where the cloth was.

Also, the red and white combo was popular on the 50's era Thunderbirds (which I love). Look for some pics of those cars. That's one car a red interior doesn't look too bad in.

Something else to consider about the suggestion of a white dash pad (I think someone said that) You'll have to wear sunglasses at night to drive with that thing and will probably constantly see the reflection of it in the windshield.

All this said, I've never been a fan of the red interior myself, and I think it would look much better if you stick with black. Just my opinion.

Also, don't give up on the wood grain too fast. The wood raid looks great in these trucks. I put the wood grain door panels in mine, and I have the wood grain glove box door. None around the cluster or on the wheel though. Just enough!

These might give you something to think about. I'm willing to bet your interior is nicer to begin with. you said you had some old panels, a couple bucks at a fabric store and see what you come up with. Unless you prefer paint. I'm not so sure about white in an interior though. Black with red inserts, definitely.

Thanks for all the ideas guys...lots to think about. As Buck said, I'll probably change my mind a million times. Just wanted to get some more definitive ideas.

I noticed in your gallery that you only have one interior pic of the Bronco. What does the interior look like now?

I will try to take some pics later of my red door panels and red visors. I did it to match my rebel flag headliner. The rest of the interior is black though. I did recently see a dash bezel on Ebay that was red. Maybe instead of woodgrain you could do something like that since it won't be too much red. Red door panels with a white insert might be pretty cool too since the red on the exterior surrounds the white basically.

First dentside I ever rode in was red and black like that, except the seat was mostly just exposed foam. (Been a logging truck in Maine since who knows when...) Carpet probably been gone from the thing longer than I've been alive.

I'm not a big fan of white, or much red in the interior. Nor, to be honest, am I a fan of the wood-grain with the red.

I'd probably stick with the steel parts being red, and everything else staying black. And, since I happen to like them, I'd probably get a red/white woven saddle-blanket style seat cover.

Interior of the Bronco still looks the same...the interior swap would be on my Red truck. But the interior on the Bronco is gold/brown crushed velvet corbeau setas, same style on the door panels, dash pad is dark brown, so is the console, and the visors are cream...couldn't find the right color or wasn't willing to drop the cash.

Well I definitely want to keep the woodgrain on everything applicable. The only thing I would even consider removing the woodgrain on is the door panels, and that would still have the insert.

Attaching links to make sure we're all on the same page as far as terminology

So I would go with Red dash pad:
http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-27103_dash_pad__complete_red_new.htm

I would maintain the ingerity of the woodgrain on the instrument panel, but want the black part to be red and/or white:

http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-27162_oem_instrument_cluster_cover__wood_grain_no_air.htm

Keep glove box trim the same:

http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-27171_oem_glove_box_trim_ring__wood_grain.htm

Keep glovebox door the same:

http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i...oor_finish_panel_-woodgrain_and_black_fin.htm

I want to use this headliner...but dunno how to paint it:

http://broncograveyard.com/bronco/i-27422_abs_black_headliner_with_speakers.htm

Then I'd still have to find door panels. I'd also keep all knobs and swtiches chrome...and will paint the steering column, and will paint the steering wheel, but would mask off the would grain...maybe paint the wheel red, but outline the horn pad in white?

If your roof inside is red I would paint the headliner white. And maybe do something red on the speakers you put in.

Ben,
A couple of things. First, the ad for the headliner says it can already be painted, so maybe you wouldn't have to rough sand it?.. Secondly, I have never heard these speakers, but being only 4" and 10watt maximum power I would "assume" they are not the best quality for sound. What you could do is wire them into a surround system like I did in my truck and use them as the tweeters only with crossovers. I have a subwoofer behind the seat, crossovers to direct midrange and upper bass to the updated door speakers, and small tweeters on my dash.. Just a thought. I don't know how picky you are about your sound... I'm quite picky.

Yeah Dak...the tunes are gonna get upgraded too, those 4" would definitely be gone and replaced with something else. I currently have a few questions going in the sound and audio section trying to put tweeter/sub/speakers/amp together in my truck. Since I have the gas tank behind the seat, it really hampers the available room. So far, found a couple shallow subs that will fit under the seat, amp will go on the other side (with an intergrated fan for cooling), new door speakers, new dash speaker, headliner with speakers...and then I figured I'd drill holes somewhere in the headliner to accept tweeters.
