Jurgen! I wish I didn't have my 3.55 gears. I think a 3.73 would be about right for me without sacrificing too much highway fuel mileage.

Ryan

yupp.. a 3.73 would be nice!

You guys don't even want me and Lee to come in here boasting about our dreaded anchor's 0-60 time.

Im game Don.

Same here...and give me the weekend and I'll pull with any three of mine...scratch thunder, she's sickly.

you find the place....

Then im goin to nut punt you and kid nap, red...
WINNER!

I can't help but chuckle every time I read 'nut punt'. So yes, you win.

My truck is incredibly slow compared to these vids...

Your truck is 1000+lbs heavier than these regular cab 2wd trucks too so it's not at all a fair comparison. And even with 4.10's in the axle you effective gear ratio is only 3.41 with those tires.

My truck suffers the same fate with a 12-13 sec 0-60 time, too much truck and not enough gear and motor. It's WAY faster than it was stock though... there was absolutely nobody home on the other end of the throtte cable when I first got this thing.

ill race you :) smiliepeelout

Sure...I'm really not one of those guys that gets his nose bent out of shape if he loses, I know there are faster things out there than my 6000 pound hunk of steel, but I still think it's pretty fast for what it is. Other than that, I just like racing for thrill/fun of it.

I never really cared to figure the effective ratio, i know im much happier shifting with the 36"s than with 33"s...
Seems the gears are placed better in the rpm's...

Does that count for all the mud and the crap i got in the bed too?
:)
I wonder what my 0-60 time is...
Oh wait, its slow.6 :)

My truck is an awkard build in my opinion...
Large truck should have been a 460, the zf seems poorly matched to the axle ratio and tire size, but no doubt it can pull a house. I guess after all it was designed to be a rugged work truck. Just a cheap version i guess. I think the zf would be much better behind a big block.

Yea but it is a 302 not a 351 like we has skank man...

God almighty, I don't see how you guys do it...there are some days even the 460 leaves me wanting more...especially once you get towing 8k+ loads through the Smokies on 7-9% grades...all I can say is, pathetic. I could oly imagine what kinda results a SB would yield.

I've actually been pretty satisfied with the power my 351 puts out. Even pulling our 7k boat it did pretty well; not great, but good enough. And lets be honest, that boat is probably too heavy for a stock 95 F150 anyway.

Yeah it's just a little Wheezer.. and it's only got a cam and exhaust so there really isn't much done to it. I also discovered this week that the base timing was at 5deg.. not sure how that happened, it felt a bit flat below 2000rpm so I got suspuscious and broke out the timing light. It moves off the line better now but it's still no 5.8, ya can't beat physics it take lots of TQ to accelerate a heavy object and the 5.0 is a 90lb weakling in that regard.
