ok mine and Anns 88 F150 is plain fast. plain and simple. and we have known this since i first drove it. well it has a 84 351W HO in it and a C6. well i had found that out a month or so ago. along with i know the engine is not stock. has a Cam and is timed at 14*. and it burns tires at half throttle from a dead stop... i had assumed that the truck had the stock rear end 3.55 gears in it till a week or 2 ago when i found out it has no parking brake.

well i finally got around to jacking up the rear end.......

it has 3.08 gears... im in amazement with it. i dont know how it runs like it does but im starting to think its built more than i thought. i was thinking it might have like 4.10s or 4.56's. but no 3.08!!!!!!!!

You ought to time how long it gets to 60. I'm just curious to compare it to my 94 351w

hmm... just the opposite here. I found out the suburban is runnin 4.10LS in the rear

i checked a couple of months ago it was about 9. maybe a touch higher. at most 9 1/4 secs. but this was with worn out plugs and plug wires. it now has better plugs but the wires are super old so i know they arent the best. ill run it in a couple of days and see.

Mine is somewhere between 8 1/2 and 10. Try to time it with a stop watch or something. If the weather clears up I'll do the same.

The first one was more like 8, the second more like 10. Averaged out, looks kinda like 9.

That just shows what an uncorked 351 can do, the stock cam and exhaust are big restrictions on these EFI trucks and it's not until these things are changed that you really start to see the potential. Imaging what it would do with more gearing and better heads.

yeah i know. i told Ann (my fiance that typically drives the truck) i told her that if it had like 4.10 gears like mine or even steeper she wouldnt be able to hold it straight.

My truck is incredibly slow compared to these vids...
The zf5 is to blame though. I had a work truck, same engine with an auto trans and it was substantially faster than my truck, but my truck can pull a house.

9 seconds sound stock to me

mine F250 was bone stock E4OD 14" timing and intake and MSD 3" single exhuast and 260.000 miles on it!

Chris how did you check the gearing? Did you actually count teeth or tire rotations or did you just read the tag?

actually it works out well with the zf 4.10's and 36"s...

But if you want to hook up and see who pulls the best, im game.
My truck was never ment to be a rocket, more to pull and chug through the mud...

Jurgen! I wish I didn't have my 3.55 gears. I think a 3.73 would be about right for me without sacrificing too much highway fuel mileage.
