I'm new, and going to convert

Hey guys. So as much as I hate to say it, I'm going to be converting to a Ford as soon as I can afford the new truck. I currently own a 2004 Ram HemiSport. I love the truck more then anything. It only has 40K miles on it, and is perfect in almost every way (except for gas mileage).

The 'problem' I had, was I recently drove my friends 2008 F-250SD with the Powerstroke, and I've been bitten by the bug. I went to look for a new one of my own, and fell in love with tem. So I'm here to learn a thing or two before I go out and pull the trigger on one. I figure the purchase is no less then 6 months away, but the wait will make it worth it in the end. I'm just getting tired of the gas mileage, and the 'street truck' aspect of my rig. Can't jump curbs, changing the rims in the snow, keep it clean. I just want a truck to get in and drive anywhere, and do a little mudding on the side.

I plan on getting an F-250 SD, Powerstroke, King Cab (That's the Ford 4-door right?), Short Bed and then doing some work to the motor, small lift, HID's, navi and all that good stuff.

So hello everyone. Hope to see you around.

Chris

Welcome to FTF! From your screen-name, I would have guessed you were converting from a Chevy...

Ford calls the one with four "real" doors a crew cab, and the one with two real doors and two dead-man doors an extended cab. King Cab is, IIRC, Nissan's name for an extended cab.

I wouldn't exactly say I'm not backing my brand name. I mean, I bleed Chevy orange, but that stems from my cars more then my trucks (71 SS454 Chevelle, '00 Z/28 Camaro, and a '66 Cobra with a BBC in it). But the Chevy trucks are ugly as sin, so I went with the Dodge at the time. Now I can't get enough of the SD's, and am literally saving my pennies to get one.

And I misspelled my name :headbang: That's what happens when you rush to sign up.

Another Chris?????? Oh, my!

Welcome. Glad to have you around here. You'll find some good natured ribbing about brands, but nobody gets bent out of shape at the mention of others. My youngest son has an 03 Dakota 4x4 with the 4.7L Horrible gas hog!

I'm Ford blue, but in addition to my 48 F1 and 52 F6, I also drive a 97 D2500 12 valve turbo Cummins. Wish Ford had Cummins!
