Got it apart today, went to Napa and looked at a replacement pulley for a dealer installed A/C, it was close but no cigar. Going to get them to bring the right one in and I will go and look at it and see if I can make it work on my OEM bracket.

That's a 6203 bearing layin' right there with the red seal on it. :)

For some reason auto parts stores like to call 'em a "203" bearing.
(it's Fafnir and others number for them) 17x 35x 12mm

Shop around and find a good price on a name brand and replace it.
Put the metal cap back on with glue, if nothing else or leave it off,
your call. LOL :)

Already sourced the bearing..problem is that I bent the pulley with my first attempt to get it off.

If you can bend it, you can bend it back? ;)

ps- Did they call it a 6203 or a 203 bearing?

Possibly...but I put a bearing puller on it and once it was bent, I said screw it and cranked harder on it :D. I suppose I might be able to bend it back, but I'd be leery about stress fractures and the amount of time it would take as opposed to getting a new one......
Neither on the bearing..I called them and gave them the number, did tell me that it was a very common bearing though. Now the trick will be to get a USA made one.
Rather bent, ain't it?

Bent is an understatement. Bet you wished you had you hydraulic press about now.

Too funny you say that, I spent a couple of hours last night looking at them!

Cool. :)

Is this a good time to tell you? :)

I replaced the 6203 bearing in my pulley and didn't bent it. ;)

At all. ;)

And didn't use a press. ;)

Or is this not a good time?

Or never is a good time? ;)

Yeah, they didn't intend for it to be repaired. :/

Here's another picture I ran across looking for something else for a
guy on FSB...

...it's just another view of the fixed-idler-pulley that uses the water
pump bearing. The base is cast iron and you just drive or push the
stud out of the casting and shove the newly assembled bearing and
pulley back into place. Look at the belt alignment and measure so
you can get it to line-up again. I actually improved my alignment. ;)

The pulley removal is kinda tricky, just like the other pulley but you
can do it and it'll be cheaper than buying a whole new part. ;)

Bill, here's a number for you, it's off the fixed-pulley's cast-iron-part
... C5AA-8A619-C
Is that for the assembly?

"adjustable" pulley (D8OZ-8679-A) ... > no number was on mine! <
