i dont need the front tank i want to remove it.. possible??

i want to remove the front tank.. i can remove it easely but what about all the fuel lines and electrical lines??


reasons

1. fuel pump doesnt work ( i can replace it but nahh.. )
2. why do i need all that fuel for? i wont go on any long trips

Keep it there, but dont fill it...

Why remove it? If you leave it, you can fix it for later. And besides, buy a bunch of cheap gas now, and save it for when the price shoots back up...

I'm not sure but I would think both tanks are plumped in to one pump I'm sure you could take the tank out and plump the rear tank in to the pump.....

nope every tank has separate pumps.. and 89 doesnt have the rail mounted pump like the 87's

Yeah this is no problem at all. I made up plugs for the fuel lines from a couple automotive studs(the OE type with an integrated nut), simply cut the threads off 1 end and grind the nut to clear the fuel line retainer clip. On the older trucks the connector is plastic and the retainer is more like a C-clip than what's in the pic below, but this should give you an idea of what needs to be done. For the electrical connector simply wrap it in a plastic bag and tie it up out of the way.
