Howdy from the Old Pueblo

I just purchased a 1979 F150 Supercab 2x4. It has a bit of patina, but it is going to be so much fun to work on and she has good bones. I think it will be a nice hauler and occasional cruiser once I get everything sorted.

The previous owner swapped in a 352FE in place of the stock 400m so I am dealing with trying to get it to pass AZ emissions at the moment. I just bought parts to do a basic tune-up, but I still need to get a cat and fab up a exhaust. She runs well enough and drives fine, but I think it definitely needs a little more tuning and love.

I just purchased a set of cheap 15x8 Eagle aluminum wheels. I have a good bit of polishing in my future, but so far they are shining up real nice and will make the rest of the truck look bad, but I will be putting some new shoes on the old gal soon since the wheels and tires on there right now don't hold air well and are mismatched.

This is now my 3rd Ford truck, I always had a soft spot for the dent sides since my dad had a '77 F150 4x4 with a 4 speed for most of my formative years.

My first was a 1994 F150 XLT 4x4 with a 300/E4OD combo. Truck was my first foray into the wonderful world of Ford. The transmission died within 6 months of me buying it and I didn't get it back on the road for a year because I was a poor college student with a bad paying job. Once I finally got enough to pay for a proper rebuild, my uncle helped me install the tranny. I really regret selling that truck. The 300 ran so nice and it just looked perfect with the 31x10.50's on a set of forged 15x8 Mickey Thompson Challengers. Unfortunately I gave myself over to Uncle Sam for 4 years and didn't think I'd want a truck anymore.

Second was a 1977 F-100 with a 302/C4 combo that could barely get out of its own way becuase the tranny was so bad off. The '77 was a POS, but I was in tech school and it got me around Biloxi well enough. Sold it 3 days before Katrina made landfall.
