how much?

There is a guy who is looking for body parts and is interested in a set of front fenders I have. My fenders are 95% with only minor surface rust and no dents. I'm in no real need to sell them so I want as much as I can get for them. Since these parts are not for sale much around here and he needs the parts I was thinking at least $150 each fender. I will not sell them for any less than $100 each. Do you think this is reasonable.

sounds pretty expensive to me, maybe $120-150 for the pair, thats what I'd charge anyways.

Location is the key here. If you are in the rust belt prices are way different. I know that my bronco heading out to mass he was glad to pay $100 for a good extra front fender. So if you are in the rust belt I would say that price is fair. Remember if you sell them & then you need them later dont let people tell you to sell them cheap & you end up regretting it later.

I guess it really just depends on the person buying them, I live in Southern, Indiana, rust belt for sure, but I still wouldnt pay quite that, It's mostly the beds that rust bad around my way, not so much the front fenders. Throw out your number and see what he says from there, its usually better to start higher and work out a deal.

Plus I don't really want to sell them. So if I get more than I want for them it won't be as bad seeing them go. I'm basing my numbers on what I would be willing to pay. And our prices in Canada seem to be higher than the States.

Around here, that's steep...I could pick up a pair for $100 pretty easily. However, rustbelt seems to carry a 2-3x premium...so I guess that would put it on pace. Only thing I would say is, I wouldn't take any less than it would take for me to replace them. Knock on wood, but my luck is, as soon as I sell them, I'll need them.

Just tell the guy that the fenders will eventually be used on one of your projects but there is a dollar amount that can sway my mind.

say to him "If you wish to try to match that amount go ahead and try".

If I had to replace them I would have to buy new or off the net and then pay shipping. I pulled these fenders from a scrap yard in -35c because I knew they wouldn't last long.
