It's a T-50 if anyone was wondering...

Also whatever year this bed came off, the tail light wire harnesses aren't quite compatible. The main one fits on and I have left tail lights, but the right one didn't work. So I just ripped out all the cables from mine and converted it over.

My last 'obstacle' for this bed conversion is that the previous owner had locking fuel filler caps. The fill necks and caps are all locked so I have to figure out whether I want to shear off the screws from the back that hold the harness in, or if I want to bore out the locks and see if they come free after it's destroyed.

Alot of locking caps are cheap and don't have very many different key cuts. See if you can find a friend with a locking cap, and try their keys.

If the bed's off you can pry on them and usually the centers will will pop out....a guy on a three wheeler did this on my 78....boy did he get an ass whoopin...he was stealin gas and a three wheeler may be fast but I know I got him with the rocksalt loads because I never saw him again!anyways yea you could either drill out the lock cylinder (most are compiled of brass and light steel) or ....wait.....did i miss something did this guy pull the bed off by removing the hose clamp on the fuel fill instead of just taking out 3 little machine screws?

Those came with it. I'll probably keep them for backup. I'm a parts hoarder.

And I painted it with Valspar metal primer colored 'red oxide' and then I painted with Valspar Metal Expoxy in Black. It's designed for "Truck and Tractor" from Tractor Supply.

I really like those truck and tractor enamels from valspar. It's tough as nails.

That's why you had to swap the harnesses then..that's an older bed. those taillights were run factory from 87-91......They actually throw more light out around the back when you're in reverse so you might think about throwin those on instead of your factory tails...

They level nice if you brush 'em on, too- brush strokes hardly show up at all.
