Sooo... Whats the purpose of the conversion kit when you go from auto to manual?

I helped my cousin put some new Manual locking hubs on his 150 and he had the three bolt auto hubs... Well i took them apart down to the spindle nut and from that point on its EXACTLY what i have on my truck. I dont have the 4 prong inner and outer spindle nut, i have the factory star, with the half moon clip pin.

I have manual locking hubs, work G R E A T!!!!!!

So let me ask this. Why does one need the conversion kit period?

The 'conversion kit' from Warn is just another name for a spindle nut kit. It includes the 2 spindle nuts and the perforated lock washer between them.

The point is to get manual control so you know they are locked in, rather than wonder if they are going to.... most of the time, a good cleaning makes the auto hubs work fine though. Clean them out, regrease and reinstall...
