Buddy has an '07 Tahoe. 5.3, 4-speed auto, 4x4. Mid-level trim, about 73k miles.

Says when it gets "real cold, like less than 10" and he starts it, he can't pull it out of park immediately, has to wait a minute. Is this by design, to allow the truck to warm up, or is something icing up?

There's a fail-safe that won't allow him to shift into gear until tranny pressure is up. that could be what he's experiencing. I'd have irt checked (primarrily to make sure it isn't low on fluid).

Fluid level is good.

I'll let him know about the fluid pressure.

Thanks!
