Help

Just bought a 06 F-250 with the 6.0. I lose oil pressure at idle and think it may be the LPOP. How hard is it to switch out? Never worked on a diesel before but pretty handy. I don't know if the oil filter may have anything to do with it as I bought it from a non Ford dealership and suspect that when they did the oil change on it they probably just called the local Napa for the filter and didn't put a Ford OEM filter in. Would this be the possible problem. The oil pressure comes up immediately if you just rest your foot on the pedal. Any help is appreciated.

OK, first, if you really lose oil pressure in a 6.0, it wont run because it needs sufficient oil pressure to operate the injectors. Yes, if they put an aftermarket filter and cap on it, that can and will contribute to oil pressure issues. Make sure you have an oem cap and filter in it. It wont work using the aftermarket cap and a Ford filter, so make sure you get the right cap.
