help identify this air conditioner please

so I bought a semi basket case 78 f150 custom. it has dash vents and this weird looking ac (?) control panel in it. what is it and is it a factory installed piece? I haven't looked behind the dash yet. thanks guys!

That is a DEALER installed A/C unit AFTER the truck was delivered to the dealer. This was fairly common.

This is how my 77 is somewhat set up.

Personally though, if you're not attached to the system, I'd spend a grand on the vintage air kit and call it done.

That looks like a dealer installed air conditioning unit for the Ford trucks, where as in my 78 F-150 Ranger Lariat is a factory installed unit, the dealer installed a/c units are made my Clardy for the Ford dealer installations.
 
Yep, dealer installed a/c. My truck has the same panel, but the a/c is long gone. It is kind of a neat looking panel though
 
This is the Economy Dealer A/C.

The other one is a hang on version.
