Help..Electric window woes...

This is on the driver's door on the dually. Acts like the gears are stripped, the window goes down but getting it back up again is a beotch.

Regulator? Or motor? (What do they run nowadays), and has anyone done a manual conversion?

You can get a new window motor gear on Rockauto, if you think that's the problem.

Does it make the electrical "zzzzrrrrrrr" when you hit the switch, as if the motor is turning but it's just not grabbing the window?

Yep, then it will grab, then slip. It's got to be gears. Our local supplier has the complete (minus the regulator) motor assembly for ~$38.

Sounds to me like gears. That's where I'd start if it were me

Looks like what I need is in the weirdly named "Help!" parts section.
'91 Bronco power rear/tailgate window.

I'm wondering if the reason it's broken is because of the switch on the dash.
Misuse by being hit by mistake and the window is so far away, the button
held down too long in either direction, stuff like that caused it.

What do you think?
Just too much window for the mechanism?

Anyway, I'm thinking about bypassing the dash switch.
Dang, too bad all the friggin windows are power on my Bronco. :/

hahaah this is the exact same problem my truck has right now! haha i just havent taken the door panel out yet...possibly this weekend

Mine switches off every few years... drivers window fails, then the passenger one or vice versa. Its a cheap and easy fix though, just dont break the clips on the door panel.
