Hello from Northern IA

Hey everyone! I just recently got a 1989 Ford F-150 XLT Lariat from my grandpa (I am also 16 and this is my first vehicle) and it needs some work. I was searching google for parts when i stumbled across this site. Hopefully this will be a helpful resource if I get into hot water haha. smilieFordlogo

Lots of Fords around this area, some vintage, some not. Wide range of years and conditions...

Welcome to the site! I've had a couple of rigs from that generation, so I might have some parts/knowledge if needed.

Thanks all and thank you Austin ill let you know if I need parts. From what I've figured out so far, I just need a new alternator, fuel pressure regulator, and a good old fashioned tune-up. But I haven't figured out all the problems yet.

Watch the plug connections on the alternator, they can make a good alternator seem bad. Some of the Ford alternators of that age have a plug that goes into the side of the alternator, which is a known connection problem location.
