my ford this time is a 1965 uhaul truck with a 18 foot ezhaul box/liftgate. i bought this years ago to move from utah to washington. then down to southern california. for the past (?) years it has been used for storage.

the rebuilt engine only has about 3,000 miles on it. v8, but i don't remember the engine size. the install was back in washington, mid 80's.

the tires were in worse than sorry shape. i just found a set of 9x22.5 tires on bud wheels. switched those from the bud wheels to the ford rims. but the brakes are leaking on the left rear. the rear axle is a single speed with a rockwell lube tag.

would like to id the axle so i can order some shoes and cylinder or cylinder parts.

ideas on how to id would be helpful.

They put 331's and 361's in some of those truck.

What is the VIN# ?

dick, is there anyway you could snap and post up a picture of your engine? Just guessing, I'm going to say your '65 had a 292 V8. As for the brakes, there were so many different brake combinations on those trucks....regardless of the axle brand. You'll almost need to pull the wheel and get numbers off of the wheel cylinders as well as width x dia. of the shoes.....
