Dunno about fender well...but I've always had good luck with Thorley's and Hooker. Thorley's are expensive at about $800 a pop...ouch. I really haven't checked out Hooker in a while though. Just looked, and it looks like Doug's Headers has some, might also wanna try Patriot and Hedman

Ive got hookers on there now and im not really impressed with them, they are the hooker super comps.....
Long tubes...

Well that was actually the Hooker header I had in mind...haha. I guess from there, all I'd recommend is to NOT go with Banks headers. Never had a set but know plenty of folks who have and the headers rust out quickly and the real world gains are nothing like the Banks advertised gains. But I would strongly suggest you check out Doug Thorley and Doug's headers...both great, but both cost some coin.

Fender exit headers? Pardon my ignorance-- but dumping exhaust right next to your tires THAT close to the engine would make for some pretty hot air + melted rubber, wouldn't it? Not to mention scorching the surrounding components...

Skank you run exhaust with them, like normal headers, they exit out side of the frame, through the fenderwell...
So the exhaust is outside the frame.

I don't see a fender exit header making any performance difference, and it will require you cut up the inner fender and move a whole ton of stuff. What exactly is it you don't like about the Hookers?

When the frame flexes they rub things. Plus the drivers side being VERY close to the front drive shaft, if i loose a ujoint then i loose a header....
I dont want them for performance gains... Just want my exhaust outside the frame, i am already working on removing the inner fenders....

Hey Don...since you'v admitted you like metal work...have you considered possibly making your own headers? Now don't laugh, but I was watching Extreme 4x4 and they built a set...looked like it was just some measuring for your specs, welding, cutting and your time. They said it was cheaper than paying for a custom built set or paying for a set that would actually work for you. I know there's a guy 'over there'...I believe his name is wvdub (he races his 79 150 and was TOTW). He drew up what he wanted for his truck and submitted it to a header company, they built 3 sets, and if there was enough interest in them, they were gonna start mass producing them. Just a thought, if you wanted a little more info.

Ben i will likely wind up doing just that...
Anybody got any suggestions on welders for the job?
I have access to a wire feed and an stick but i would have to go pick up the wire feed...
Any suggestions?

Yea sometimes it is, but ive used a stick welder alot more than a wire feed, just curious if the thinner metal would be easier to weld with wire or stick...

Also suggestion on primary size?

Well Im sure to big is going to be a problem... But not entirely sure on it...
Not really up to snuff on header design... I know equal length tubes is a big plus...
