headers..

im thinking about getting summit racing headers, shortys

how much will i benefit from these over the stock manifolds?

Anything is improvement over the stockers. As for seat of pants not that much . MPG may pick up some if exhaust is opened up a litte.

I like them because I crushed a couple pipes because of the long tubes need to run under cross member or tranny ..

I doubt you'll see much of a gain with shorties, from what I've gathered they aren't worth the box they come in. Longtubes or nothin', IMO.

I got long tubes, and ill 2nd get them. Most people say shorties dont do jack. Just mod your catback to work. Thats what I did. I made my catback before I had the headers. So I made it work.

Neither type header should affect the cat-back, but I don't see shorties being much benefit with the stock Y-pipe/cat assembly.

Make your own Y pipe. I made a H pipe for mine and stock F350s are dual exhaust. Here are some pics of my H/Y assembly. You can buy the Y section and put the pipes to it. http://www.fordtruckfanatics.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3227
