I stared by snipping the two lines that go from that coffie can on the passengers side fender. I took most the loom off and seperated everything out.
Now i have a question. My truck has those two packs that are on the same braket as the coil. Now my question is, seeing how it looks like its for the thermactor system.. Do i need that cluster of vacuum lines or not?
Im thinking i dont, simply because i dont have anything for the two lines to plug into anymore without that metal tube that goes from the back of the heads...
Just checking tho before i throw the upper intake up on there.
Also what size bolts do i need to plug up the back of the heads?
Motors coming along nicely, all that i have to do is check bolts, tighten header bolts, put up Y pipe, starter and transmission dust shields, Upper intake and TB and plug in all those sensors, Fan and water pump pully, get a new belt, put the radiator and trans cooler in, connect lines, add water oil and gas and she should be ready to run. Im sweating bullets at this point lol
Thanks, yea i found the tube and figured it out from there... Also have the back of the heads pluged, but im running into a problem. My smog pump is siezed and i bought a belt that one guy recommended by part number and its to short. So now im trying to free up the smog pump but i dont think im gonna have any luck... What should i do now?
The short belt doesnt go around the pump? If anything use a peice of string to mock into ur belt system so you know what size one you need when you go to the parts store, if not take ur pump out and see if you can free it up.
I ended up taking the pully off the pump, spraying a bunch of PB blaster on the inside of it, sprayed the outside, hit it a few times with a hammer after letting it sit for a half hour or so, put two of the bolts back in where the pully mounts to, without the pully, Took a screw driver and pryed and it freed up.
I sprayed it down pretty good and spun it around for a while. Then for the top i used a brake cleen cap and some RTV and made a cap out of that to keep the water from going inside the pump from boggin and whatnot in the future.
I fired it up today but i have more questions and il make a new thread.
