I know alot of you probably recover yours but the ones who didnt tell me where to get a good one and what kind to get please! God Bless All of Ya! Thanks

I'd just grab a two piece from WalMart and tie it under the seat from front to back - no sliding.

I've just used hog rings (I think is what they're called), but that typically tears the fabric with prolonged use.

Yeah, but at least you were thinking along the right lines. :)

I sewed seatbelt all along the back edge of the cover then screwed that to
the frame. :) Went over all the factory's sorry stitching while I was at it.

Prob'ly the same quality as Smokey's suggestion? :)
Way better than that off the shelf Saddleman crap.

Either way you're going to have trouble with it slipping if you don't hold it in
place like you mean it. That's the only reason the original upholstery doesn't
slip, ...it's held in place.

ps- Worked on my '75 and '91 not sure if it'll work at all on a '78. ;)

Thats just who I was gonna suggest theyre out of Salt Lake and ive bought a couple from em. One was artificial leather thats in my 72 and has held up great for five or six years but is startin to show its age where I slide in and out of the truck. Another I bought that was a cheaper Dura EZ care and it sun faded on the top of the seat in a year.

I've gone through about 5 covers in my truck with much frustration and aggravation. I'm going to order an upholstery kit soon.

Wow. :/ Are you buying junky stuff or what?

I've only gone through three (4th is on it now) since Feb of '75.
But also got the seat re-upholstered back in the mid 90's, heat
had hardened up the plastic and it just had to give.

This reminds me that I bought the first saddle blanket seat cover
before the pickup was delivered. :)

Also had received the Ford Shop Manuals in the mail too. $31 :)

The junk you find in Walmart or local part store. On my old Dodge I had one seat cover that I bought at a part store and it lasted the whole time I had the truck. Now I can't find anything worthwhile. So I think I will just finally cough up the money and by some upholstery.

Smokey posted the best one out there

I am on my 2nd one in my 78

The PO of the 77 put one on his as well

With spring just around the corner start looking for local swap meet dates

There are so many good deals at swap meets they are worth saving up for.
