ground problem???

89 mustang 5.0. we drove the car in to the garage and changed the spark plugs. go to start the car back up and will crank but not start. doesnt sound like we are getting any spark from the plugs. so we took one wire off first cylinder on the passenger side plug and used a screw driver and tried to get spark that and and it fired and ran with a miss from that plug. we shut the car off and put the plug wire back on and tried to fire it back up and and it would crank but not fire and run. i dont understand? any help would be much appreciated

Glad to see its fixed. I was trying to find some diagnostic procedures (Ford's on line area only goes back 10 years).

no biggie thanks anyway. there are a lot more issues with the car. its needs a new egr valve new maf sensor and a tps sensor. were working on it getting right though
