Yeah...I received another one about the cruise control thing. What the heck was ford thinking making the circuit live with the key off?

No reason for the cruise to be enabled with the engine off. Makes no sense to me.

I cannot use telephones and I will not let the local ford dealer touch anything of mine (several long stories-been here since 81)...so

I had my mom call the dealer in the town I work in for an appointment.

Them: Sure...no problem. He does not need an appointment though. Just bring it in sometimes between 8:30 and 5:00 and we will take care of it for him.

I have never dealt with the repair side of that place, but the parts department has been super helpful in the past.

Take about 10 minute all together . No biggie. Good luck

I sort of guessed it would not take long with the no appointment part. As far as I know...they just add an inline fuse to it.

I cannot believe ford was stupid enough to design a cruise control circuit that is live at all times and use it on millions (???) of vehicles. Why in the world would the cruise need to be in with the engine not running?

I got a recall letter in the mail yesterday, for my Bronco I haven't opened it because the Bronco is sleeping under a cover right now.
