Go to start and got the big click

Well was running between Dialysis centers today delivering some Scales. And went to start truck . all I got was the big cluck not the dead battery click. So luck would have it I had a extra starter I was going to drop off tomorrow for rebuild.

Had the shop guy come get me and I took the new 08 F450 4x4(sweet nice buckets ) acrossed town to rebuild shop . 20 minutes latter I had it in hand and headed back to replace. Started right up. Never had one go like that without a few times of acting up that a bump or 2 of key turns her over .

Oh well at least I got piad to ride around for a change.

Mines been "big click"-in for a few months now, i find it only happens when i dont prime the fuel pumps before cranking it over

mine did it only when it was very hot.. and low on power... with the new alternator and battery it never does it anymore..

If I got the big cluck, I'd be looking for a chicken and large grade A eggs underneath my truck..............There is something VERY, VERY wrong with a truck making noises like a chicken

I got the big click a few times several weeks ago. Rapping my starter with a 1/2" ratchet drive did the trick

My stang starter has a dead spot, sometimes I have to try 2 times to start. Been doing that for umm 6 years since I got the car lol. At least u got to get paid to work on ur truck.

My AC Delco in my truck is great. If AutoZone was cheaper I would have gotten it. As I know most the kids there so they would swap it for me. After I killed my engine once, Im not going to be wheeling for a while.

I get mine rebuilt locally. The magnets r glued in theses starters and they break easy when hit to much. I had a few session like that . But I had cleaned all terminals and no problems for weeks. I'm lucks I was near shop and not 2 hrs away.
