FUN or STUPIDITY?

the GT40's on my truck went to the machine shop........damn bolts wouldn't come out with a plasma cutter...they ended up drilling and tapping and helicoiling them out......only one reason I trust em...that's because a friend of mine has known the guy for over 30 years....

Yeah I never messed with aluminum just iron.

Nah these were off a lightning...they are also iron.....

Why did they helicoil em then and not just tap and give ya a bigger bolt?

Maybe they wanted to keep the same size bolt for some reason.
