ford 400 fywheel Q

I'm currently doin a rebuild on a ford 6.6 400 which has a manual transmission flywheel, when removing the clutch I noticed something and cannot confirm if its factory or if something wore it.

there is a groove all the way around before the bolt pattern center

looks like the clutch friction plate may have been installed backwards and the springs wore a groove in the flywheel..
