I've got a quick question about these bumper guards I have.My dad gave them to me a long time ago and said he pulled them off of one of his old trucks.I have no idea what truck that could have been, but they're definitely for something older than 79.I barely know anything about 6th gens,so I hope someone here can Identify what they fit so I can create an accurate listing when I sell them. Thanks in Advance. Here's a pic:

With that contour, it will fit a 77 and any other applicable years. I believe the bumpers were the same from 73-77.

Get me the stamped numbers off the back

GM had almost identical bumper guards

Is there at least a Ford oval script ?

If not they are Gm's

No,but the backside is pretty rusty,so it's hard to tell.Is there a chance they could be aftermarket? My dad said they came off one of his trucks,he's never owned a Chevy truck in his life. It's like a sin in my family.

If it makes any difference, the bumper guards only have one bolt on them. There's isn't a second hole for another mounting bolt or nothin.Last I checked all older Chevrolet trucks had two bolts on the face of the bumper.

Maybe it is aftermarket. IIRC, they were popular add on in the 80's and there's still a few places that reproduce them today.

That's what i'm thinking.Oh well,I have a guy who wants em for a 77 Supercab,so they're most likely gone after tomorrow.I told him about not being sure on their origin, and he said he could care less.

Well bumper design is important.

A 73-77 is differnt than an 78-79
.
In fact there were 3 bumper designs for 76-77

Nope I didn't

I meant different styles for a front chrome bumper.
