Hi. We are restoring our 1990 F350, anybody who know if it is possible to use frontparts ( Bumper, grille, fenders and hood ) from '92-'97.
I am afraid this not "bolt on"! Can it be done? How much trouble will this be? And what is the main challenge?

Will be glad for any info / advice about this.

it can be done but you will need to swap everything rad support also and mod the headlight wires since they are different

The wiring is my last worry. We are doing electric repair and mod. all day. So if we strip the car down to the inner fenders and change the rest, you mean this is more or less bolt on?
I understand the "shoppinglist" will be long if we shall have all brackets and minor parts new. But still I am very interested to do this.

The whole front clip is plug and play. I don't know as the headlight wiring is any different, both are similar bulbs. 9004 for the 90, 9007 for the 92, but the plug is the same. You could actually swap the bulbs as well...

U will take everything from cab forward off
Fenders ,rad support,hood , cowl panel .

And replace with newer truck parts also need cowl panel and fab mounts for the front bumper as they r different . Might need hood hinges also . Inner fenders look same but not sure.

Very easy swap .

Thanks! We also try to do things ourselves, So far we already have our truck painted in black metallic and added stainless and aluminium on our wrecker bed.
( Vulcan ) We even did wrap the crane in polished stainless and have bought all new lamps in LED. But I am want to freshen up the front, so I thought perhaps this facelift.......
I will post photos later.

Thanks for giving me advice about the swap. I feel more optimistic now. I will go for the whole package as you say from cowl and forward. I guess if the Inner fenders are a little different we can adjust them a little. I have a very trained welder.
I think our truck will look better with the newer front. The old one is so square and the new lights looks more modern.

When it comes to second hand parts it is not so easy out here in Norway. We are used to high prices out here so I am not afraid about the prices for new parts. We will see....

I thought the cowl was the same between the 87-91 and newer trucks... I know it is different on the 86 and older trucks. But otherwise, everything firewall forward has to be changed, that much I do know.

theres a fellow over on another site, maybe here aswell, named pychostang
He did the swap and it looks quite nice, i believe he found a truck that had been rear ended and stole parts off it, along with my head light knob.
