Experience Report '89 F-250 460 engine

I posted this in another thread, but I thought I should also post it here for that once in a lifetime troubleshooting fix.

I was towing my camp trailer home from camping, and had to drive down a 1mile terrible washboard road to get to a RV dump station. When I got there, I shut off the engine, did the nasty deed, then got in the truck and tried to start the engine. The truck would turn over, but would not start.

I thought that was very curious, because the fuel pump, mechanical switching valve, and fuel filter were all less than a year old. I farted around with the fuel system for about two hours, with no results.

I then crawled under the truck one more time for the tenth time, and I discovered a ground strap had vibrated off between the cab and the frame. This is a spring steel connection to the frame that had worked its way off the frame, but was still connected to the cab. I reattached the ground strap to the frame, and the truck started immediately. I was so happy, and so mad at the same time. I had spent two hours stuck at the dump station with nowhere to go.

And that's no shit!

Good and bad news.
There is another ground for the fuel pumps behind the driver's side head light that needs your attention, like YESTERDAY
the fuel pumps are stealing the grounds from your cab right now......not good
