I found this EFI kit, it is the powerjection III kit. I called up summit racing and talked to a tech and read the install on it. It looks really easy, pretty much, take off carb and slap this baby in. The computer even auto tunes. I'm not planing on restoring this truck, I use it for a 4X4 play toy. I am looking to find out if anyone or know someone who has used this system. Is it worth it???????????????

I personally couldn't justify it, but I would likely refit a stock system in with a donor vehicle, but that's me... Holley's projection system is about the same price. I kinda like the way they made that look like a Holley carb though... be a bit of a sneak attack setup...

One thing that has me leaning more towards the powerjection is the hole installation. It is made to work with MSD ignitions. The wire harness is very small, I can leave all my MSD ignition parts in, and within 2 hours be up and running.

That is a definite plus, easy install and operation... refitting an OEM system would take way more time and knowledge.

User mustangtoby here just did the Holley version on one of his rigs, and I think he has another that was previously done. I hear nothing but good from these systems, and can be tuned to get upwards of 20mpg's, eliminate cold start up issues...and allows you to play more off camber in your toy. Toughest thing is swallowing that price tag up front.

I was plaing on doing a fox body style fuel injection. I can see that giving me a few headaches before I would get it running. So now I have many parts for sale on CL.

I've been looking at EFI systems for the last year and am going the Powerjection III route. The software looks somewhat similar to the ThunderMax for bikes which I'm very familiar with. The added onus of the wideband 02 sensor will help refine the fuel map.
