edelbrock performer intake?

My buddie has a 351m edelbrock performer intake should i get it he only wants 40 bucks its alittle dirty but in good shape. Its also got a holly 2bbl on it i dont know why he had a 2 barrel on a 4 barrel intake but i can pick the whole setup up for under 80 bucks should i jump or no?.

4412 carbs can be worth a little money anyway. the intake should be worth 75-100 also. buy it up.

My question is if i switch my intake and carb over to 4 bbl from a 2bbl will it make that big of a difference?. My dad seems to think if the motor isnt setup for it im just wasteing my money.

yes it would but not that much, for better improvement you will need a camshaft so the engine can breathe better, besides that a 600 cfm carb could also save you some fuel economy since the primaries of a tipical 600 carb are smaller that the stock 2v carb (300 cfm vr 350cfm), it could also be a future investment on a bigger project like a 400, and for that price youll be sorry you didnt take it...

It will make some difference, and a better exhaust will as well. And as mentioned, if you stay out of the secondaries, it is smaller on the primary side. I have known some to disconnect the secondaries.
