and hes got rep from me!

And he prevented me from looking like a dumbass any further. For the record, when I got up and read the info everything made perfect sense...and I've done these things on Red a few times. Musta gone half retard or something.

Let there be light

Thanks to all for the help and advice, especially member Ronzi for sending me good door jamb switches. Got the new switches in as well as the dome light...here are the results:

I'm totally stoked to finally have interior lights after 2 years of having this thing. Looks like the good ol' Mag light can now be retired. I plan on polishing up the dome light, but I just wanted to get it in for now. Thanks again guys.

That can be made to be better...I was more concerned with getting something that worked. Keep in mind, this is in the Bronco. Functionality reigns supreme in that rig.

Are those map lights the same 73-96?I know there's different ones for Standard and Supercab/Bronco,but i'm not sure if they're the same through the years.Sure look like it.I have 4 from 80-96 trucks sittin in the shop, and a perfect Bronco one with no pits sitting in the truck, but the map lights are pointed forwards instead of down like my truck should have. Also, how do you get rid of the pitting? Two of them have some pitting that affect their looks. If I can get the pitting off,i'll put the correct Standard Cab light in.

Sweet...I'm game. Like I said, this light was just to have something, I snatched when a buddy let me gut his interior for $100...the one I got the mint rear bench.

Cool, glad to see you got it to work.

Thanks Buck...this thing just seemed to fight me the whole damn way, but it's in now.

Dunno if they're the same. As for getting rid of the pitting, I'd just sand and polish. It won't necessarily make it perfect, because there is some deep pitting, but it'll be better.

Alright...after finishing this up and everything working thanks to Ronzi, I'm gonna come back to my original question. All of the new door jamb switches I found did NOT have pig tails, so how are you supposed to hook up the the original wires to the new switch?

Mine just plugged into the connector that was there and works fine. Maybe I missed something. Let me re-read thread.

The new switches I found were the switch itself, 100% complete, but no pigtail, just three openings for wires. Ok So insert the wires, but how do you crimp them down?

Ok you have me totally confused LOL. You don't crimp them down. The switch plugs into the connector on your wiring harness. Your original one just broke from the harness.
