Mil1ion

Still Da Man
Well first you go buy a 3rd hand from Radio shack for $30.00

Then you stop by a hardware store for some liquid metal

Then you drive to DQ for a Mega Chocolate Blizzard

Then you got to Home depot for some Duct Tape

Then you walk across the street for a new pair of shoes.

Head back to your car/truck and finish your blizzard

Head home

Have a really long Look at all the stuff you bought.
Decide the shoes are great
The Liquid Metal is for a future product
The duct Tape is to hold Milkshake containers to the deck chair

Then toss those 32 y/o pieces of switch as far as humanly possible.

Good grief man......you wanted to try and save a 32 year old piece of crap when you can buy one at a parts place in the H.E.L.P. section for a couple $ ?

Go have anothert Blizzard !

No Dennis, I wasn't trying to save it, more wondering where I could get the pig tail from, and making sure all the pieces I needed were there so I could start piecing the stuff back together. But I guess I needed to clarify that. I've never seen the pig tail in a catalog and never seen one in the help section. Hell, in my city, 2 Autozones, 2 O'Reilly's, 2 Advance Autos and one Napa didn't even have the switch, but told me I could order one and have it there in 3-5 business days...or take a half hour drive. And since I've had zero luck with the order and wait ordeal, I just ordered it from JBG. So if you've got a link or PN, I'd greatly appreciate it...because it's looking like I'm going to replace it with '31 year old crap' compliments a fellow member.

The plug end isn't avaialble anywhere in the aftermarket that I'm aware of.

Ben in the top picture the piece on the right is what is supposed to be wired to the truck still. The other end is supposed to stay with the switch itself.

I didn't think they were available, at least I had never seen them...so I was deferring to someone that knew more than me. So then which part/where is it supposed to unplug at? Because the butt end of the new switch and old switch look the same and the new switch is a solid unit. I'm not seeing any plugs except for behind the dash. But now do you get why I thought I had to crimp the end, or should there be a pig tail coming out of the new switch?

I have no effing clue why this is so difficult for me to grasp.

the new door jamb switch doesn't come with any kind of pigtail, but it sounds like you figured that out already. I never could find a pigtail either, so I just used a couple from an old wiring harness I had. In your pic, the wires look pretty short to reuse that one.

See the left over crap sticking out of the piece on the top right side of your picture? That is part of the switch itself and is still supposed to be in the door jamb switch. It looks like you or someone else took a pair of wire cutters and cut the 2 wires off instead of trying to remove the broken piece out of the plug receptacle. That piece is the female end that was supposed to stay wired to the truck's harness.

Also if you remove the instrument cluster there is a 3" round plug on the side of the cowl where your wires pass thru. It will make it easier to try and rewire whatever it is Ronzi is giving you.

Thanks...Saw it and was on it so I could get the wires back out the hole.
