With the uncertainty of the 'storm of the century' coming my way or not, decided to take the Bronco for a spin and feel her out. Was only planning to take her out to the gas station so when the refineries get overwhelmed with the hurricane I still have gas. Anyway, filled her tank, and 3 other spare Bronco tanks I have...I figure at 3.31/gal it wouldn't hurt to have 100 gallons of spare fuel anyway.

So what was supposed to be a quick jaunt down the street turned in to about 750 miles, doubling my annual total. I tell ya, that's basically the point to this thread...there's absolutely nothing like hopping behind the wheel of a rig that shakes the ground and will go any direction you point it. Man the ego stroking that goes on with the interest drawn from passer-bys and the intrigued in parking lots. Regardless of the fact that it desperately needs a new booster, tires and steering components from the steering wheel to the box, it was the most fun I've had driving since...probably the last time I drove one of my older rigs.

I've got a buddy with some 95% Iroks he's gonna let go cheap, planning on going hydroboost and I guess I'll have to give Borgeson and Red Head a call on behalf of the Bronco...just gonna have to flat out find time to fix it. But man I haven't had a smile that big in a long time. At one point Bailee hollered at the top of her lungs how childish and obnoxious I was being gunning and chirping from every stand still...

Knock on wood...but it doesn't look like the storms met up quite as far south as they were originally projecting. The mountains (about 2 hours west) had upwards of 12" of snow last night and the beach (3 hours east) had bridges and islands, I routinely cross, underwater. We only had some light sprinkles and 30mph winds.
