Primarily a Saginaw swap on a dentside??? The Bronco's booster is shot and the P/S pump crapped out on me, I've considered forgoing the 350 brake upgrade and going hydroboost with the sagniaw set up (as long as the parts need replacing anyway...almost the same money either way). I'm just curious if my Bronco will spontaneously burst in to flames?

I'm not a hippy, but I'm siding with them on this one- it's your damn truck.

All original is good, if that's your thing. Good parts that work are good if that's your thing, too.

(Crappy parts that are not original are never good...unless they're cheap, and you're desperate.)

well I don't like doing it, but I have swapped in the hei ignition parts into a ranger before. The hei swap is stupid simple and reliable and very cheap.

Haha...I'm leaning more hippie on this one too...big ticket items like engines and whatnot are a no go.

Yeah...it gives me an icky feeling even thinking about it...but if it helps as much as the guys that have done it say it does...it's worth considering in my book.

Couldn't you have used something less tasty then bacon ?

Nope...these are the rules.

I voted No...

Do it, don't look bad. Lets be blunt here. Ford is a truck company. But that doesn't mean another company can't design something that is better... Ford engineers are great at what they do but that doesn't mean their idea's cant be improved or replaced with something that is of better quality... On top of that, didn't saginaw pumps come in some econoline vans in the late 80's early 90s?

Yeah, go ahead and put GM parts on your truck. Then you can loan out your girlfriend and tell me that America sucks.

Ryan

That literally just made me laugh out loud.

There are places that will rebuild your booster. Macsautoparts.com is one that comes to mind.

However, I'm in agreement with Mark. I'm not sure I'm willing to boycott bacon.

I look at it this way Ben...Your getting the best of both worlds.what i dont agree with is cross breeding engines. But i do understand why some do it.I went to HEI Ignition on the 79, love it.backup module is stored in the glove compartment, cant do that with the duraspark box.

Considering Ford saw fit to use Saginaw and Delco parts on some of their vehicles, I have no issue with it. Besides, if it keeps the old rigs moving, I don't care at all.

It doesnt matter.

I have a problem when people start putting 350s/TH350's in things though. Its just to damn cookie cutter for my tastes.

The Saginaw swap has been a common fix for a known Ford issue.

The hydroboost thing I'm less sold on. Had issues with one on a Caprice Wagon years ago- really learned to hate that setup.

I just chose the bacon option for fun. It's your truck, I see no issue. I would not do it to mine though.
