I have standing offer to a few ladies at work to offer guidance, advice and some times repair on their vehicles when the conditions arise. One lady said she needed a brake job on a 2002 Sebring and the dealership quoted $425 to do it. I told her that was ridiculous, and I'd do it for her. She brings the car to work, I see it needs front and rear pads and rear rotors. I bring the car home, run to the local NAPA get the pads and rotors. Go back home and pop everything off. Now I get to the point of my story, I pop the rear rotors off and see there's a drum brake set up inside the rear 'hub'. WTF????????? Those need to be done too. The NAPA guy was unaware of the drum set up when I went back for shoes. They asked if the car was a convertible, I figured they'd ask if I needed the shoes too. I have never seen a set up like this either...is this a common set up??? No real point to this thread other than I was completely shocked and want to know how common this is. After looking at part cost and dealership labor rates, I don't see the $425 being completely out of line, but still didn't know a disc/drum set up existed.
